BPCSD Sells Historic School Street Alternative Building

The Broadalbin-Perth Central School District has sold the former Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES Alternative High School building to a Broadalbin couple interested in developing senior housing there.
Broadalbin-Perth Superintendent Stephen M. Tomlinson said the property sold for $99,500, which was what the district was asking for. He said the district will realize an approximately $20,000 additional savings because the property cost money to maintain and heat in the winter.
"In such tough financial times, it's very nice to be able to relieve ourselves of one more financial burden," he said. "It cost money to care for the building and keep it in good condition."
Tomlinson said he's pleased the new owners expressed interest in turning the facility into senior housing.
